Chef Nitya Pathak, originally from the vibrant city of Kolkata, discovered his love for cooking as a young boy, helping his mother in the kitchen and learning the rhythms of spices, flavour, and care that define true Indian home cooking. Inspired by this early passion, he pursued a degree in hotel management, determined to turn his love for food into a lifelong craft.
His culinary journey began humbly — as a Head waiter at Delhi International Airport, where he was first introduced to the pace, pressure, and excitement of the hospitality world. When the opportunity arose to move to the UK, he took a leap of faith. Over the next two decades, through dedication, resilience, and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence, he worked his way up the ranks — from the floor to the kitchen, and eventually to the role of Head Chef at some of Manchester’s most celebrated Indian restaurants.
On the other side of the subcontinent, Co-founder Siddarth Yonzon was nurturing his own dream in the hill town of Darjeeling, where he helped run a charming, home-style hotel and restaurant known for its warm hospitality and soulful food. With a deep connection to his roots and a vision to bring that same sense of heart and home to an international audience, Siddarth dreamed of one day opening a restaurant abroad — a place where people could experience not just Indian cuisine, but the culture, comfort, and magic behind it.
Their paths crossed, their visions aligned, and Jadugar was born.
